The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) is an EU directive that has become law in every country in the European Union. Its purpose is to ensure the safe reclamation or disposal of the millions of tons of electrical and electronic equipment discarded every year. This includes all of the computers and computing equipment that we no longer use.
Computer disposal is a specialist function with its own complications – and is invariably outside of the normal purview of most businesses. But with an equipment lifecycle averaging just five years, it is not something that can be avoided.
In April 2004, the Environment Agency awarded Orange Information Systems Group the ‘Certificate of Registration Under The Control of Pollution (Amendment Act 1989)’. We are fully authorised to provide WEEE disposal services to ensure our customers’ ‘duty of care’ obligations are fulfilled.
We are authorised to provide disposal under the WEEE directive. Our disposal service fulfils our promise to look after you and your IT infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle. From initial consultancy through procurement, installation, optimised use and, finally, safe disposal: service is everything.
